Transportation Terms and Conditions
Are you fully aware of yours and ours obligations during transit? We believe transparency is the bedrock of every successful partnership in the logistics industry. You'll find our complete legal framework for cargo handling and liability documented below.
This agreement outlines the relationship between WAGNER MOVING & STORAGE INC. and our clients. We're committed to the highest standards of transit safety, but clarity in jurisdictional limits and insurance requirements is essential. Please review these terms carefully before booking your next shipment.
1. Carriage of Goods
WAGNER MOVING & STORAGE INC. acts as a freight forwarder and logistics provider. We take pride in our 17 years of operational excellence. However, our liability is strictly governed by the standard conditions of carriage unless otherwise negotiated in writing before dispatch. Do you have specific requirements for high-value cargo?
1.1 Packaging Obligations
It's the shipper's responsibility to ensure that all items are sufficiently packed for the rigours of road transport and multi-modal transit. We don't accept liability for damages resulting from insufficient internal protection or structural weakness of crates provided by the client.
2. Liability and Claims
Our liability is limited based on the weight of the shipment rather than the retail value, following industry-standard protocols. Why is this important? Because it ensures predictable logistics costs for you while maintaining the stability of our insurance premiums.
2.1 Time Limits for Notification
All claims for loss or damage must be reported within 48 hours of delivery. Once the consignee signs the proof of delivery without reservation, we're unable to reopen claims for visible external damage. No exceptions are made to this rule to maintain administrative integrity.
3. Insurance Requirements
While we maintain comprehensive motor truck cargo insurance, we're not your primary insurer. We strongly recommend that clients procure "All Risk" marine or transit insurance for goods exceeding the value of £50,000. Don't risk your capital on basic carrier liability alone.
4. Payment and Fees
Terms are net 30 days from the invoice date. Late payments attract interest at a rate of 4% above the base rate. We reserve the right to exercise a general lien on any cargo in our possession if account balances remain unpaid beyond 60 days.
